We are thrilled to announce the release of our Postman Collection for the Investment API! This powerful tool streamlines integration of our investment solutions into your applications, making it easier for developers to access and leverage our API’s full potential.
What is the Upvest Investment API?
The Upvest Investment API provides a comprehensive suite of functionality for building any investment experience. We provide seamless access to critical financial information and trading capabilities, ensuring that financial institutions can build sophisticated investment solutions with ease for their end users. See our website for more details.
Why use the Postman Collection?
Our Postman collection is a pre-packaged set of API requests that you can import directly into your local Postman app.
One of the key advantages of using a Postman collection is the ease of use. It can be set up and running quickly without the need to manually configure individual API endpoints. The collection includes all the necessary requests, headers, and parameters. It enables you to test different API endpoints as well as functional use cases, and see how they interact with real data. This ensure your application works flawlessly with the Investment API.
Functionality according to operating models
The Upvest Postman collection comes in a pre-defined form in accordance with our operating models:
- Take our license (single accounts)
- Bring your own license (single accounts)
- Bring your own license (omnibus)
Operating models are the framework that describes how Upvest operates and delivers its products and services. When you build a solution with the Upvest Investment API, you will be doing so within the framework of one of our operating models.
An operating model includes:
- the processes, resources and technologies used to implement the operating strategy and achieve the objectives.
- the legal and functional framework for the product.
Comfortable authentication via Proxy Setup
Our proxy setup for authentication provides a convenient and secure way to manage access to our platform and services during testing and discovery.
Proxy authentication acts as an intermediary between users and the authentication server. It handles the authentication process on behalf of the user, simplifying the interaction between the client and the server. This setup not only enhances security but also improves the user experience by reducing the complexity of direct interactions with the authentication server.
All you need to provide is the client_id and client_credentials, which we have provided you during project set-up, along with the scopes that are set for your client. Please make sure that these are set in the fork of your collection.
Keep track of changes
By forking our Postman collection from our source workspace, you can maintain a version-controlled collection for API testing. This approach ensures consistency: if there are updates in the source collection, you will be able to update your fork with those changes into your forked collection.
